LOWNDES CO., AL (WSFA) - A Lowndes County cattleman spent 70 years building up much of his business only to see it blown away within 5 minutes.
David Jordan knew early on the approaching storm might be bad. Jordan was right. The Christmas night storm blew down three barns and destroyed equipment representating a total investment of around $700,000.00.
"This doesn't bother me too bad. I'm just glad nobody got hurt," said Jordan.
And that's why Jordan isn't complaining. Mr. Jordan's first job will be to clean it all up and then start over, counting his blessings along the way.
Severe weather moved through south and central Alabama on Christmas day causing damaged to Mr. Jordan's property and property in at least 12 other counties. These are photos of damage in Lowndes County.
